Planting & Care

Drought resistant trees grow in alkaline soils with little fertilization. Provide good drainage. Plant in early Spring or early Fall. This tree enjoys warm and humid environments, full sunlight or partial shade. Olive trees do not do well in windy locations. Arbequina is a Spanish olive oil variety with small fruit turning purple as they mature. The olives are prized for their mild, buttery and lightly fruity flavor, as well as, for their high oil concentration. The trees are evergreen, long-lived, beautiful ornamentals with soft, gray-green foliage. Arbequina can grow up to 20' outdoors in hot climates. In a container on a patio or indoors it will remain compact, measuring 7' - 10' at full maturity, with regular pruning.
