Citrus clementina 'de Nules'
This is the most widely grown Clementine in Spain. Small to medium-size, glossy red-orange fruit with a sweet classic mandarin taste. Popular in the bagged mandarins sold by a number of brand names, the Clementine took the lead in this new era of Mandarins. Introducing a new generation to the outstanding flavor of super fruit. This Citrus variety has all the attributes now associated with Mandarins. The smooth rind of this clementine is thinner than other varieties, so it's very easy to peel and separates freely. The deep-orange flesh is juicy and predominantly seedless. A dependable heavy producer, expect great crops each year

Space 8 to 10 feet on center, mandarins are a great choice for hedge row planting spaced 5 to 8 feet on center
Clementine's do well in sandy soil but they will adapt to most native soils. This tree must have well-draining soil and will not tolerate standing in water. If poor drainage is suspected plant in a mound 24 inches high and 4 feet wide of a raised bed 12 to 18 inches high and 3 feet wide. Mulching helps retain moisture and helps to stabilize the soil temperature as well as preventing the mound from settling before the roots get established . Requires full sun with at least 8 hours of direct sunlight favoring the morning sun. Trees tend to be small and bushy, and can easily be kept 7' - 10' with regular pruning. Makes an excellent container plant. The white flowers are very fragrant.
