Known for a large crop in the spring, the early or Breba crop is by far the tastiest. Adapted to the colder climates where it successfully produces after temperatures' below 20 degrees. The early crop is also dependable on the coast or in areas receiving less heat and light. The Lighter second crop which only ripens in the warmest summer areas has a light crop but is sweet and meaty. Great Fresh, or dried the Desert King tree is a fast grower and dependably productive

Planting & Care
Figs will tolerate any type of soil that is fast-draining. Figs require 8 hours a day of full sun and long hot summers to produce fruit. Most must be protected from cold Winters. The Desert King however can take considerable cold and produce a Breba crop each year. They like regular water to get started but are tolerate drought once the tree is established. Water deeply at least once a week the first year. The sap of fig trees can be irritating, wear gloves if you are sensitive to Latex when pruning the trees or harvesting the fruit. Figs are easily be trained as espaliers and do well in containers.
