Description

Citrus limon 'Lisbon Lemon'

The Lisbon Lemon Tree is one of the most popular true lemons grown. Popular in both the commercial and the home garden market mostly do to its wide range of adaptation. Although thorny the canopy is dense with glossy green foliage, and produces ample amounts of smoother skinned, yellow Eureka lemon like fruit most of the year. Unlike the Eureka which is best suited to hot inland climates, the Lisbon lemon does well in the heat of the valley or the cool of the coast. Well suited for the same landscape usages that other lemons are, Lisbon makes a great hedge plant or wonderful patio container plant. Like other fruiting plants it can be kept low with regular pruning. Lisbon is a productive, commercial lemon variety that is heat and cold tolerant. Harvest fruit year round. Produces several crops per year, but the main crop is Winter and early Spring. The bright yellow fruits are medium in size with lots of strong, acidic juice. Lisbon lemon trees are attractive and produce fragrant purple-tinted flowers. Could be a candidate for indoor outdoor growing.
