The deepest red of all the blood oranges in most climates. The deep red flesh and dark red over orange rind adds to the interest of this unique fruit. The flavor is less acidic than other oranges with a very tropical overtones and distinct hints of strawberry or raspberries. Dependable regular production and long hang time means there is plenty of time to enjoy your Moro Blood orange, Fresh eating right off the tree or try dehydrating into slices, just an intense eating experience. Or try freezing the juice for later. The juicy red flesh and tropical tang make it ideal for batches of chilled summer Sangrias. Moro blood oranges are used for both juice and fresh eating.

Blood oranges do well in a rich soil mixture of native soil and grow mulch. This tree must have well-draining soil and will not tolerate standing in water. Requires full sun, 6 - 8 hours a day and consistent moisture. Tree grows into a densely branched, full rounded crown. Moro orange is moderate-growing and will reach 15' outdoors, but can easily be kept 7' - 10' with regular pruning. Makes an excellent container plant and is easy to espalier. The fragrant white blossoms and the red-orange fruit makes a dramatic garden focal point.
