Planting & Care

Pineapple guava is a large, evergreen shrub grown as an ornamental and for fruit. Fruits range from 3/4" to 3-1/2" long with blue-green or gray-green skin. The entire fruit is aromatic even before it is ripe. Pineapple guavas prefer cool nights and a few chilling hours. Pineapple guava produces best in well-drained, rich soils high in organic matter, but will tolerate salty soils. Shrub will grow in partial sun, and will tolerate drought, but the fruit crop is best in full sun with regular moisture.
