Planting & Care
Mandarins must have well-draining soil and will not tolerate standing in water. If poor drainage is suspected plant in a mound 24 inches high and 4 feet wide of a raised bed 12 to 18 inches high and 3 feet wide. Mulching helps retain moisture and helps to stabilize the soil temperature as well as preventing the mound from settling before the roots get established . Requires full sun with at least 8 hours of direct sunlight favoring the morning sun. Trees tend to be small and bushy, and can easily be kept 7' - 10' with regular pruning. Makes an excellent container plant. The white flowers are very fragrant.
