If poor drainage is suspected mound the plant of 12 inches above the lay of the land. Plant in full sun favoring the morning sun in a location that gets at least 8 hours of direct sun a day. Water regularly the first season and less frequently until fully established. Drought tolerant when fully established. Grow as a bush or prune into a tree form. Excellent landscape plant with a quite stunning display of flowers in the early spring. Watch for scale or Leaf footed stinkbug, very few other problems
