For best results, make sure that your hariness zone lies within the zone compatibility of the variety that you are considering.
Suncrest Peach is self-fertile, but the fruit crop will be larger if the tree is planted with a second tree.
Prunus persica
Suncrest has the blazing orange-red color of a dawning sun. Outstanding quality fruit with magnificent flavor from this beautiful peach. The Suncrest Peach is described lovingly by David Masumoto in his excellent book Epitaph for a Peach as one of the last remaining truly juicy peaches. Suncrest peach trees are vigorous and productive, but remain rather small, which is an advantage in a home orchard.

Peaches prefer light, well-drained, somewhat sandy soil. Mulching helps retain moisture and stabilize the soil temperature. Peaches grow best in full sun in a location where cold air or frost will not settle. Choose a protected location that is sheltered from wind. Water regularly, at least weekly, during the first year. Keep the soil evenly moist, but not wet. Prune the trees annually in Winter when they are dormant to enhance productivity. Peach trees are very productive, and will grow to 25' tall. Enjoy clouds of showy pink blossoms in the Spring.
