Citrus reticulata 'Tango'
Tango produces perfectly shaped seedless fruit with a rich, slightly acidic/sweet flavor and lots of juice. The smooth, deep orange rind is relatively thin and easy to peel when the fruit is ripe. Tango is a great snack size, especially for kids, and is among the mandarin varieties marketed as "Cuties" in grocery stores. Mandarins trees make great container plants for the patio. Because of the density of the tree they make a great screen to block out unwanted views. Winter ripening the Tango produces large crops of fruit from a you at a young age.

Tango mandarins require a full sun location with at least 8 hours of direct sunlight. If possible select a location with morning sun. Mandarins do best in well drained soils. This tree does not tolerate standing in water. If poor drainage is suspected elevate your planting with either a mound or raised bed. Mulching helps retain moisture and helps to stabilize the soil temperature. Mandarin trees can easily be kept 7' - 10' with regular pruning, so they make an excellent container plant. The white blossoms are fragrant.
