Guavas require a frost-free climate above 25° F. The guava produces best in well-drained rich soils high in organic matter. They will not tolerate salty soils. Plant in full sun and provide regular moisture. Guavas are self-pollinating, but will produce more fruit if planted with a second guava. They produce very pretty white flowers in spring and do well as container plants.
