The mighty Zin, is a medium sized reddish black grape that is sweet and pack with flavor. Known for producing bold fruit forward rich flavored wines in California or the earthy mineral rich Croatian style wines or Primitivo selections traditionally grown in the heal of Italy. All are thought to be the same grape. The moderately vigorous vines prefer a cooler climate with milder winters. Heavy bearing with large clusters of grapes. This is an easy grape for home wine makers to work with. harvest in mid to late august to get the more earthy flavors or leave it them on the vine until late September when the brix are high and the sweetness is overwhelming.
